FAIRLY FAMOUS - THE TENNIS SHOW
(30 mins) 12.15pm • 1.30pm (BSL) • 4.00pm

Rafael Nadal and Fred Perry live on court!! Wimbledon comes to FAF with a pristine court, dead posh umpire and highly strung players!

A hilarious but thrilling "one setter" is played out live before an enraptured crowd with all the drama of the real thing including slow motion replays, heated line calls, tantrums and live commentary. Luckily members of the audience help out, standing in for ball boys, physiotherapists and even royalty to award the prizes at the end. Expect the rules to be slightly bent!

DARRYL J CARRINGTON - OUT OF THE BOX
(30 mins) 11.45am • 2.30pm • 4.00pm (juggling workshop only)

Prepare to be amazed and entertained with 'Out of the Box', a show that pushes the boundaries of traditional circus and takes audiences on a journey through a world of imagination and wonder.

In 'Out of the Box,' Darryl brings his unique style and vision to the stage, incorporating everything from traditional circus skills to modern technology to create a truly innovative and captivating performance!

Join Darryl at 4.00pm for a juggling workshop.

GRANNY TURISMO - THE GRANNYS
(Throughout the day)

Listen for the screech of burning rubber. No pavement is safe. Meet the first and only shopping trolley dance display team.

When Doris, Mary or Marge arrive on their souped-up shopping trolleys with their pumping tunes, everyone takes notice. Fantastic and unique, the Grannies are loud and a force to be reckoned with. You have been warned!

CIRCO RUM BAA BAA - ANCIENT OLYMPIADS
(Throughout the day)

It is 328 BC. Leonides of Rhodes stretches and postures with his solid stone discus. He is warming up for the competition and keeping a watchful eye on Hermogenes of Xanthus who lunges and flexes with his javelin. Both are keen to list their previous Olympic triumphs as they interact with their adoring crowds in Ancient Greek and pay homage to their god Zeus!

THE GREAT WONKY DONKEY PANTOMIME HORSE RACE!
All Day Panto Horse Making Workshop • Horse Line Up From 4.30pm • Race at 4.45pm

In honour of the slightly famous Basingstoke Panto Horse Race of 1980, we are bringing this magnificent tradition to FAF this year!

Grab your racing partner and take part in the panto horse making workshop. Then at the end of the festival, line up and race for wonky donkey glory!

There will be obstacles. There will be falling over. It could even be an absolute shambles! But there will most certainly be plenty of fun and mayhem!!!

DAUGHTERS OF THE DUST - ELEVATEHER
(45 mins) 12.45pm • 3.00pm (BSL)

Revealing female struggles and strengths played out between three multi-height tightwire rigs.

Redefining traditional tightwire walking, this outdoor performance features an all-female cast who share their stories and experiences through circus, physical theatre and spoken word. Unapologetic joy, defiance, beauty and strength.

CASSON & FRIENDS - ARCADE MINI
(30 mins) 11.00am • 12.30pm • 2.00pm • 3.30pm

ARCADE Mini by Casson & Friends is an interactive performance with dance ‘games’, that animate public spaces - encouraging playful participation to connect people of all ages with the childlike joy of play - and each other!

The games are elegantly played and facilitated by a friendly team of highly skilled performers. Half of the games are WATCH US (mesmerising & fun to watch), and the other half are JOIN US (inviting gentle playful participation). The show is suitable for all ages!

BUREAU OF SILLY IDEAS - THE WHEELIE BINS

Even street furniture have feelings! And it’ll be wandering around the festival all day, so keep a lookout!

Say hello to Sid and Nancy, the water squirting, horn honking wheelie bins!

WORKING BOYS CLUB - WELLBEING WELLS
(Throughout the day)

Step up to the Wellbeing Wells, where tradition meets innovation, and connection is just a wish away!

At the Wellbeing Well your voice is transformed and digitally carried - choose from a variety of fun effects to make your conversations with a stranger at the opposite well even more joyful. Whether it’s a soothing tone or a playful distortion, each interaction becomes a light-hearted and uplifting experience.

BUREAU OF SILLY IDEAS - SHIRT OR SQUIRT
(Throughout the day)

The winner gets a shirt, the loser gets a squirt! Do you know how much blood, sweat and tears it takes to power a water pump?

NO.... Not to worry, SHIRT OR SQUIRT will show you. Be the first to pedal push your way to victory. Make enough electricity to power your pump and you’ll empty the chamber over your opponent!

THE SLIME MAKING WORKSHOP!
(Throughout the day)

What time is it??? It’s time for slime!!

Wanna get messy? Then come and make your very own slime!

THE ARTBOX
(All day)

Pick up those pens and colour in a giant mural full of wonders! The Art Box is a giant collaborative colouring challenge ideal for small kids and big kids of all ages. Release your inner doodler!

AROUND THE FESTIVAL

Everything else at the festival:

There’ll be plenty to see and do, including a circus skills and games area (always popular) with plate spinning, stilt walking and hula hooping for starters.

There will be a quiet space for visitors to catch their breath and return to a zen like state and community stalls to peruse, including:

• Clacton Arts Centre
• Brightlingsea Music Group
• Brightlingsea Panto Group
• Hedgehog Highway Rescue

Take a story for a walk around the festival with Tales From The Forest from Funnelwick Limb, and learn how two magical sisters were born in a great oak tree. Then meet Atom & Luna as they go to a strange birthday party!

As usual, there’ll also be giant bubbles galore, floating throughout the festival, courtesy of Grethe Mangala Jensen. We bet you can’t catch them all!

There will also be a selection of talented local artists who will be showcasing and selling their work.

You’ll also find ice cream, tea and coffee, a bake sale and food stalls to give you plenty of energy for a day of silliness!

Look for the pink P-arty Bus where Lucy Weaver will be helping you to make your own slime!

And for the first time at FAF, we have brand new merch, including tote bags and t-shirts! Every sale goes directly toward supporting future festivals, so show your love for FAF and grab some exclusive limited edition merch when you arrive!

  • The entire festival site is ground-level for easy access.
