ARTIZANI - GIANT LOBSTER TAKE OVER

Artizani are experts in creating outdoor arts, they don’t just put art on the streets, they make art for the streets. This is a giant lobster take over! As evolutionists predicted, the new master of the planet has risen from the seas.
This 5 meter high lobster is a surreal and endearing walkabout with huge impact. A sight to behold!
BLACK EAGLES - ACROBATIC TROUPE

A troupe of totally stunning acrobats from Tanzania, now based in the UK. Set to lively African music, the show progresses through a series of powerful and graceful acrobatic, circus and dance routines. A high impact, joyful show that will have people gasping in amazement. Very highly recommended.
THE MOTLEY CREW - SHANTY SINGERS
(Sailing Club / Walkabout 30 mins)

The Motley Crew are a group of like minded chaps who don’t take themselves too seriously but love to sing songs of the sea to audiences at regattas, weddings, parties, international festivals and now at Fresh Air Festival! Giving their time to charities and good causes we’re exceptionally lucky to have them.
Their robust but light hearted style will have you yearning for a dip in the sea, even in October!
THE ELVIS SHOW - COMEDY THEATRE

Award-winning Elvis impersonator Joe Reeve stars in his version of the classic Elvis film “Blue Hawaii”. Assisted by enthusiastic Tour Manager Josephine Cunningham, this is a musical comedy to get you "all shook up" in Paradise. Suitable for all the family, with lots of audience interaction and your favourite Elvis songs!
ELLENA WOOLF - VOICE NOTES TO MY CHILD SELF

What would you tell yourself as a child? A time travelling recording booth has landed at FAF and Manningtree based poet Ellena Woolf invites you to step inside and send a message back through time and space. You can also hear Ellena’s own voice note, the one which set her on this story-collecting adventure.
DRUMS ZKOOL - WEST AFRICAN PERCUSSION BAND
(Prom Green 30 mins)

This 30 minute set is performed by an incredible West African Drumming band based in Colchester. They consist of professional djembe players & percussionists and will also feature some new drummers from Refugee Action Colchester.
This will be a loud, rhythmic, djembe drum start to the festival!
CIRCO RUM BA BA - THE PIRATES MISADVENTURE

Circo Rum Ba Ba invite you to cast off your shoes and squeeze into its true-to-life 50ft (18m) inflatable Sperm Whale.
Enclosed in a lobster-net fence and guarded by a nosy Fish Wife, a shipwrecked Pirate with a treasure tale to tell and a real live Mermaid with a haunting siren’s song and an intriguing secret.
LEMMINGS THEATRE - THE COD CHOIR
(Walkabout 30 mins)

Deep sea fishermen dripping with water and displaying their latest catch of horribly real cod! The Cod Choir perform terrible sea shanties and cheesy fish jokes, bringing delight to all those who stumble upon them. It’s pure nautical nonsense and not on stilts
for a change.
SAND IN YOUR EYE - SAND SCULPTURE ARTIST
(Prom Green All day)
Sand In Your Eye first started making sand sculptures over 15 years ago and create inspirational and fun artwork that will make you laugh and think, shout out in amazement, and perhaps even shed a tear. At FAF, they will be creating a one tonne sand sculpture outside the Sailing Club! But what will they make? Dolphins swimming, a giant crab?

JELLY ROLLERS - THE DRAGON MUSICAL CONTRAPTION
(The Sailing Club 3hr installation)

A mechanical curiosity, a 13ft high mechanical dragon of great age and cantankerous nature. This marvel of grime and grease is a hand cranked mechanical wonder. The fearless and curious are invited to step forward and turn the half-dozen handles which animate the dragon via a variety of cranks and chains, resulting in a grand display of hand cranked contraptioneering.
MATT BARNARD - DANGEROUSLY UNBALANCED

A traditional juggling show with exciting juggling skills, hilarious comedy and a death defying finale. From the moment Matt Barnard steps out you will be entranced by his warm infectious humour. A lot of people can juggle but not so many can make it hypnotically entertaining.
CRAFT
All day activities throughout the festival.
JANE STEWART- ARTS AND CRAFTS IN THE BEACH HUT
(Beach Hut 192 All day)
Craft workshop where participants get to make their own crabbing line and bag from organic twine and hessian. A workshop with an ecological focus, drawing attention to unfriendly materials that can find their way into our oceans.
ANNE SCHWEGMANN FIELDING - MOSAIC
(Beach Hut 253 All day)
Ceremony at 4.45pm on the main site
Passionate about the transformation of old into new, Anne gives unwanted objects a second skin by process of adornment. She creates unique sculptures, panels and installations using predominantly recycled and waste materials. Artefacts donated by clients are often incorporated into the works.
